1. Snowdon Triple Challenge – trek, bike & kayak in Snowdonia
This exciting multi-activity challenge will pit you against the spectacular landscapes of Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. Physically and mentally demanding, the Snowdon Triple Challenge will see you cycle 12 miles along the shores of Llanberis Lake, passing some incredible landscapes as you head towards Llyn Cwellyn.
Swapping bikes for boots, begin the ascent of Wales’ highest summit, Snowdon. Starting with a gentle climb, the hiking soon turns challenging. The views from the top of Snowdon are absolutely worth it, and weather permitting you’ll be able to take in views across the British Isles. You might be tempted to bail out at this point, but push through the final 2.5 mile kayak across Llyn Padarn (Llanderis Lake) before a well-earned celebration.
This is definitely a challenge for those wanting to push their physical limits.
2. Ben Nevis Challenge, Bike Kayak & Trek in Scotland
Another incredible multi-activity challenge incorporating cycling, kayaking and hiking. The Ben Nevis Triple Challenge is definitely not for those afraid of a real physical test. This is a classic Sea 2 Summit Challenge. The Ben Nevis Challenge follows The Great Glen Way and covers some 100km on bike. Cycling from Inverness along the shores of Loch Ness to Ben Nevis and Fort William. Don’t panic the 100km cycle is split over two days with an afternoon kayak from Loch Oich to Laggan Lochs on day one. Your 2 hour kayak journey down the Laggan Corridor is a nice sheltered section of the the Caledonian Canal to the mouth of Loch Lochy. The kayak section marks the end of day one as we overnight in one of the Scottish Highlands famous mountain hostels.
Day two starts with short flat 30km cycle to Fort William where we take a break before Swapping your bikes for boots. You will begin your climb of highest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis standing at 1,344m with your dedicated Mountain Leader. The trek to the summit takes approximately 3hrs. Reaching the summit of Ben Nevis you will have the chance to enjoy the breath taking views of the Scottish Highlands. The walk back down should take approximately 2.5 hours. On completion of your challenge we will provide a transfer to Inverness.
The Ben Nevis Challenge is a challenging but hugely rewarding weekend. You will enjoy stunning views of the Scottish Highlands, and a fantastic sense of achievement when you complete the weekend.
3. Lake District 24 Peaks Challenge
Trek all the biggest and best Peaks in the Lake District in 24hrs. Spread over two days with each day taking 12hrs walking you’ll cover all the famous and lesser known secret gems of the Lake District National Park.
Day one Begins at Honister Pass, climbing slow and steady to reach your first peak. Once on the summit you continue across the fells to Great Gable. On a clear day you can see your whole route for the day. The afternoon take you over Scafell Pike the highest peak in England and onto Great End. We will take time to enjoy our achievement at the end of the day before descending into possibly the most picturesque valley in the Lakes, the Langdale Valley. We’ll arrive in Langdale just in time for refreshing local beer or cold drink before heading back to our base for the evening.
Day two takes you along the Helvellyn Ridge with its 360 degree views it makes for a very special day in the Lakes. Again it’s a very early start in the quieter parts of the national park, making your way up Red Screes again fingers crossed to a great sunrise. Then it’s onto Fairfield, then a big decent to Grizdale Tarn before heading up what we call the travelator, Dollywagon Pike. The last major climb on the 24 Peaks is now behind you. On the home straight in the afternoon we take in Helvellyn and Raise before descending to the finish.
Be prepared for an exhausting but energising journey through the rugged Lake District landscapes.
Hike over 26 miles, and tackle all of England’s tallest and most demanding peaks, including England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike. Overall, you’ll climb over 13000, crossing crags and moorland before finishing in the Therlmere Valley. The 24 Peaks Challenge is a great weekend for those who want a tough mountain adventure.
4. National three peaks challenge
Considered one of Britain’s toughest mountain challenges. The National Three Peaks takes in the dizzying heights of Scotland’s Ben Nevis, England’s Scafell Pike, and Wales’ Snowdon in a weekend.The challenge starts on Saturday climbing Ben Nevis (1344m) the highest mountain in the UK. Once on the summit you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Scottish Highlands before making your descent back to the minibus and starting the overnight journey to the Lake District.
Scafell Pike (978m), the highest mountain in England is next and head torches are needed. Here as the climb takes place during the night with the aim of reaching the summit for sunrise.
The final challenge takes on the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon (1085m). Once on the summit there will be time for a quick photo before making the descent down to Llanberis. Upon completion of your 3 Peaks Challenge you will be transferred to your accommodation for a night of celebration and rest. Snowdon, will test your mental and physical limits after and long day and night of hiking. Draw on the final reserves of energy and make a push to the final summit, before taking in the incredible views from the peak – some of the best in the British Isles. It’s a slow walk down, as the legs will ache, but the elation of completing this challenge will make it all worth it.
